Joseph T. Naughton, DO
CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER
Dr. Naughton has been a board-certified family physician for 27 years. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in family medicine at Mt. Clemens General Hospital (presently McLaren Macomb Medical Center). From 2003 through 2014, he was the Director of Medical Education at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. In this role, he was responsible for the training of hundreds of medical students and residents each year. As a family physician, he enjoys caring for patients of all ages from newborns through senior citizens.
Lauren Rush, DDS
CHIEF DENTAL OFFICER
Dr. Lauren Rush serves as the Chief Dental Officer. Dr. Rush is a Michigan Native and attended Howard University in Washington, DC where she graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. She attended the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry where she completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2011, followed by a 1-year General Practice Residency (GPR) at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit. Since finishing her residency in 2012, Dr. Rush has dedicated her career to community-based Dentistry, practicing primarily in the Federally Qualified Health Center setting. She is devoted to serving the community by providing quality and compassionate dental care to all people.
Outside of work, Dr. Rush enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and son. She volunteers with various community organizations and youth programs.
John Yax, LMSW
DIRECTOR OF INTEGRATED HEALTH
John Yax, LMSW, has been working in the behavioral health field for nearly 20 years. While his education and training is heavily focused on psychotherapy, he has also worked in hospitals, grief/loss centers, and as a community mental health provider. This diverse experience gives him unique insight and the ability to process issues from many vantage points. John conferred with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Michigan State University and a Master's of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan. He has experience treating adolescents, young adults, and adults. John has extensive training and experience in treating Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder/Mania, ADD/ADHD, Adjustment Disorders, Marital/Relationship Issues, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder/Personality, Stress Management, Anger Issues, Behavioral Issues, Substance Abuse Issues, and Life Transitions (among others). Additionally, he has much experience and training in Grief/Loss/Bereavement issues, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-related issues, Substance Abuse, and Self-Harming Behaviors.
Lawrence Brown, DPM
Lawrence Brown earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 1983 and subsequently completed a residency in podiatric surgery at Brent General Hospital in Detroit Michigan.
Dr. Brown demonstrates his commitment to education and clinical proficiency by readily sharing his time and expertise with others. At different points of his career he has been affiliated with the Division of Postdoctoral Education at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, and adjunct clinical faculty at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine.
Well respected among his peers, Dr. Brown is associated with several professional organizations. Among them are the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, the Professional Wound Care Association, and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine.
An esteemed researcher, Dr. Brown served as Director of Research in two Wayne State University studies on the “Biomechanics of the Foot During Pregnancy.” He has been the Director of Esther Brown Endowment Fund for Research in Podiatric Geriatrics since 1984.
Dr. Brown lives in Southfield with his wife Helen and their three children Rachel, Tamar, and Estee. In his free time, Dr. Brown enjoys reading and hockey.
Shawna Cuda, MSN, FNP-C
Shawna Cuda is a family nurse practitioner who studied at the University of Detroit Mercy. She attended nursing school at Oakland University and worked at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital as an RN before becoming a nurse practitioner. She enjoys helping patients achieve their health and wellness goals. Shawna enjoys spending her free time outside walking, relaxing, and being with her family.
Nicole Hentschel, LMSW
Nicole Hentschel received her Master of Social Work degree from the Michigan State University and has over 10 years of clinical experience working in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. She has worked with all ages from birth to the elderly as a Psychotherapist, Care Coordinator, and Infant Mental Health Therapist. Nicole is rostered in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). Her training includes a broad range of symptoms and disorders, including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, bipolar disorder, stress management, and trauma. Nicole enjoys spending time with her family and friends and traveling!
Jennifer Hornok, LMSW
Jen Hornok received her Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University in 2010 and has an array of clinical experience working in partial hospitalization, outpatient, residential treatment, community mental health, and school-based settings. Her training and experience offers an eclectic approach to treatment needs and resources for all ages. Her primary role with Macomb County Community Mental Health allows her to bridge the gap between behavioral health and medical care for all patients served. Jen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, along with anything that keeps her active, and live music.
Adrianne Jones, MSN, NP-C
Adrianne Jones is an Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner at our Center Line Clinic. Her specialties include Internal Medicine and Women’s Health. Adrianne received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Her past working history includes functioning as a Registered Nurse at St. John Medical Center in Detroit, MI and Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Adrianne also obtained a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Adrianne’s interests include traveling, yoga, and spending time with her family and friends.
Lisa Mader, LMSW, CAADC
Lisa Mader earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI in 2014. She has spent the last six years working primarily in the fields of Substance Abuse & Corrections, focusing primarily on the treatment of opioid dependence and co-occurring disorders. Lisa grew up in this local community and became passionate for helping those struggling with the disease of addiction based on witnessing how it affected family, friends, and neighbors in her community.
Vasudeva Mandava, MD
After receiving his Doctorate Degree from Guntur Medical College in Guntur, India, Mandava moved to Michigan and began his internship and residency at Mount Carmel Mercy Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Following that, he received his fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital.
Soon after, Mandava began his own practice in internal medicine for 35 years, in association with Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. After retiring his private practice, Mandava received his opportunity with MyCare in 2014.
Following his footsteps, his two daughters are also physicians, obtaining their degrees from Guntur Medical College. Sabala is currently a Radiologist at Henry Ford Detroit Hospital and Amulya is a stay at home mom and resides in India.
Scott McCormick, PA-C
Scott McCormick is a Physician Assistant and graduate of University Detroit Mercy. Prior to working in Family Medicine; Scott worked in the Emergency Department at Henry Ford Hospital Detroit. Working in emergency medicine allowed him to see firsthand the ramifications of poorly controlled chronic disease. It was this experience that motivated Scott to work in preventive care. Scott looks forward to working with his patients to ensure they are getting the care they need.
Scott is also a current member of the Army National Guard; working to ensure the medical readiness of our military forces. Prior to serving with the Army; Scott also served with the Navy and Marine Corps as a Field Medic.
Erin Merriweather, DDS
Dr. Erin Merriweather is a Detroit native. She attended Michigan State University where she graduated with her BA in Chemistry. Dr. Merriweather attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry where she completed her DDS in 2011. She began her journey in public health in 2014 with an organization in Detroit, and she now provides dental services at the MyCare Centerline clinic. In 2018, Dr. Merriweather received the Michigan Chronicle 40 under 40 award for her service and contributions to the community.
Jennifer Wims-Madden, MSN, PMHNP-BC
ADULT PSYCHIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER
Jennifer Wims-Madden is an Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has worked in the mental health field for over 14 years. She received her Associate in Applied Science Degree in Nursing from Oakland Community College in 2007, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at University of Michigan- Flint in 2009, and went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing Degree with a Major in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Wayne State University in 2012. Jennifer has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient hospitals, outpatient facilities, and community mental health centers. She provides medication management, psychotherapy, and psychoeducation to a diverse population and a wide array of mental health diagnoses. In her role at MyCare Health Center, she works collaboratively with the rest of the treatment team to provide access to quality mental health services to improve patient outcomes.
