OUR PROVIDERS

Dr. Moore-Baldwin serves as MyCare's Chief Medical Officer.  She is a family physician who provides care for the pediatric to geriatric populations performing acute and chronic care management, GYN and steroid injections.  She is passionate about providing families and individuals with great healthcare and a multitude of services to enhance the overall well-being of our communities. Dr. Moore-Baldwin believes in treating your family as her own. She enjoys building relationships which establishes the trust and mutual respect of her patients, and she goes above and beyond to help advocate for the needs of the individual. Dr. Moore-Baldwin was born and raised in the Detroit area which is why it has a special place in her heart. She has participated in multiple outreach projects in the metro Detroit area and was able to recognize the need for consistent caring physicians.

She obtained her medical degree from Wayne State University and completed her residency at DMC/Sinai Grace/WSU Family Medicine Residency Program. 

Dr. Lauren Rush serves as the Chief Dental Officer. Dr. Rush is a Michigan Native and attended Howard University in Washington, DC where she graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. She attended the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry where she completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2011, followed by a 1-year General Practice Residency (GPR) at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit. Since finishing her residency in 2012, Dr. Rush has dedicated her career to community-based Dentistry, practicing primarily in the Federally Qualified Health Center setting. She is devoted to serving the community by providing quality and compassionate dental care to all people.  

Outside of work, Dr. Rush enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and son. She volunteers with various community organizations and youth programs.

John Yax, LMSW, has been working in the behavioral health field for nearly 20 years. While his education and training is heavily focused on psychotherapy, he has also worked in hospitals, grief/loss centers, and as a community mental health provider. This diverse experience gives him unique insight and the ability to process issues from many vantage points. John conferred with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Michigan State University and a Master's of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan.  He has experience treating adolescents, young adults, and adults. John has extensive training and experience in treating Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder/Mania, ADD/ADHD, Adjustment Disorders, Marital/Relationship Issues, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder/Personality, Stress Management, Anger Issues, Behavioral Issues, Substance Abuse Issues, and Life Transitions (among others). Additionally, he has much experience and training in Grief/Loss/Bereavement issues, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-related issues, Substance Abuse, and Self-Harming Behaviors.

Christine is a Family Nurse Practitioner and is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practioners. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oakland University and her Master’s in Science from University of Detroit Mercy. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Christine worked as a registered nurse in the ICU at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit. She specializes in internal and family medicine and has a special interest in diabetes management. Christine aims to provide quality, holistic, and compassionate care using evidence-based practice for patients of all ages. In her spare time, she loves to travel, read, and spend time with her family and friends.

Allysa Fearnow-Baurhenn, LMSW, CADC received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Oakland University in 2013 and her Master of Social Work with Addiction Specialty from Michigan State University in 2018. During her career Allysa has worked with children, teens and adults experiencing a variety of hardships including family separation, suicide, domestic violence, grief and loss, trauma, homelessness, substance use, mental illness and financial instability. Allysa’s approaches to practice include strengths-based and cognitive behavioral therapies, motivational interviewing, mindfulness practices and many others. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and taking walks with her dogs.

Nicole Hentschel received her Master of Social Work degree from the Michigan State University and has over 10 years of clinical experience working in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. She has worked with all ages from birth to the elderly as a Psychotherapist, Care Coordinator, and Infant Mental Health Therapist. Nicole is rostered in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). Her training includes a broad range of symptoms and disorders, including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, bipolar disorder, stress management, and trauma.  Nicole enjoys spending time with her family and friends and traveling!

Dr. Macon is a board certified Family Medicine physician who is committed to serving those living in southeast Michigan. Dr. Macon received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University, his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his family medicine residency within the Henry Ford Health System. Dr. Macon sees patients at all ages and enjoys working collaboratively with patients to meet their health care goals.

Lisa Mader earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI in 2014. She has spent the last six years working primarily in the fields of Substance Abuse & Corrections, focusing primarily on the treatment of opioid dependence and co-occurring disorders. Lisa grew up in this local community and became passionate for helping those struggling with the disease of addiction based on witnessing how it affected family, friends, and neighbors in her community.

Open Position

Dr. Erin Merriweather is a Detroit native. She attended Michigan State University where she graduated with her BA in Chemistry. Dr. Merriweather attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry where she completed her DDS in 2011.  She began her journey in public health in 2014 with an organization in Detroit, and she now provides dental services at the MyCare Centerline clinic. In 2018, Dr. Merriweather received the Michigan Chronicle 40 under 40 award for her service and contributions to the community.

Tessa Adams received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan in 2017 and her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant studies from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2020. Tessa has been working in family medicine for several years and thoroughly enjoys being in primary care. Outside of work, she enjoys participating in league sports, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her 2 dogs, Lola and Dill Pickle.

Jennifer Wims-Madden is an Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has worked in the mental health field for over 14 years. She received her Associate in Applied Science Degree in Nursing from Oakland Community College in 2007, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at University of Michigan- Flint in 2009, and went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing Degree with a Major in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Wayne State University in 2012. Jennifer has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient hospitals, outpatient facilities, and community mental health centers. She provides medication management, psychotherapy, and psychoeducation to a diverse population and a wide array of mental health diagnoses. In her role at MyCare Health Center, she works collaboratively with the rest of the treatment team to provide access to quality mental health services to improve patient outcomes.
